Detailed Information

The former Hotel Tomo has been reborn through a stylish, top-to-bottom renovation that transformed the 131-room property into the Kimpton Buchanan Hotel. The current look is understated and residential, with clean lines, and creative design elements that tie in both Japantown and nearby Pacific Heights. Lovers of Japanese culture will discover a chandelier installation formed from over three thousand whiskey bottles, and beautiful shibori print accents woven into the hallways, throw pillows, and signature guest robes. When not reclining in their spacious guestrooms, patrons also enjoy Japanese sake at the complimentary nightly red and white wine reception, and access to the tranquil outdoor courtyard with fire pit and lawn games. Locals and guests alike flock to Mums restaurant, which was also recently renovated as the up-and-coming generation of the family retooled this shabu shabu restaurant to make it their own. They offer three meals a day, including both classic American and Japanese dishes for breakfast! (See also: Mums restaurant listing)
